Real Madrid and Juventus clash in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday with both clubs looking to add the trophy to the domestic league titles they wrapped up in May.
Real Madrid won a first La Liga title in five years and Juventus won Serie A for a sixth consecutive season.
The pair are without doubt the best two teams in Europe this season. Aided by a rock-solid backline, brimming with experience, Juventus has swept aside all before them domestically again this season. Another Scudetto was followed by a third consecutive Coppa Italia triumph, but a third European crown continues to elude them. The Italian giants beat Ajax in the 1995/96 final but have since lost four finals.
Ironically, in the 2014/15 season when, Juventus were beaten by Barcelona in the final, they played against Monaco and Real Madrid in the two rounds prior to the 3-1 loss. This time around, Monaco and Barcelona were defeated en route to their final showdown with Madrid.
Goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, is coming to end of a glittering career in which he has won almost everything for club and country, however, a Champions League title still eludes the legendary Italian stopper. Many neutrals will be supporting Juventus on Saturday just to see Buffon lift the famous old trophy.
Standing in his way, Ballon D'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid forward has fired an incredible eight goals in his last four Champions League games. Going into the final just one goal behind Lionel Messi, Ronaldo will be aiming to finish as the competition's top scorer for a fourth successive year.
